Abstract
Daniel Casals caracteritza el programa de ràdio "En totes direccions", emès durant el 1971 per Ràdio Barcelona sota la direcció de Jaume Picas, una mostra d'espai radiofònic íntegrament en català durant el tardofranquisme. Casals destaca el paper de Picas com a dinamitzador i recuperador d'aquest àmbit per a la llengua catalana, així com l'excepcionalitat d'un programa que oferia informació cultural en un moment en què la repressió franquista permetia, només, la informació de caràcter local o regional. Quant als continguts, la literatura ocupava el primer lloc, seguida d'altres expressions culturals. El marc geogràfic de referència era el del principat, amb lleus incursions en la resta de Països Catalans. L'exemple d'"En totes direccions" reforça la idea que, durant la darrera etapa franquista, la llengua catalana podia trobar alguna escletxa d'expressió en els mass media "gràcies a la valentia dels activistes que s'ho proposaven, tot i la prohibició jurídica de ser usada en l'esfera pública". Casals afirma que, en aquest cas, "el franquisme treia més rendiment de l'autorització que de la prohibició". En apèndix, ofereix divuit taules de contingut fetes a partir dels divuit guions conservats del programa.
