» ABSTRACT: «ABSTRACT: This research paper was prompted by a series of questions linked to the development of a technology for improving in-place soils. Indeed, a soil stabilization technique for road pavements, based on a calcification reaction, was developed within the Groupe de Recherche en Géotechnique (GRC) at Polytechnique Montréal. In addition to the geotechnical characteristics of treated soils and the benefits derived from this technology, it was necessary to address the environmental impacts associated with its implementation, in the short term, through leaching tests on treated soils, and in the long term, through a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) on case studies. The development and elaboration of this study are being carried out in two phases, the first of which is the establishment of an experimental protocol for the evaluation of leach-treated soils. The latter is based on a protocol established by OECD/OCDE (2004), with a few contextual modifications. The protocol involves comparing samples of treated soil with samples of compacted granular soil, after leaching with neutral pH water solutions or acidic artificial rain solutions. Runoff water is collected directly and analyzed for major cations and anions. Chemical analysis results show an impact on resurgent water for the element "chloride". Concentrations were compared with the drinking water (EC) and surface water resurgence (RES) criteria of the MELCC's Guide d'intervention pour la protection des sols et réhabilitation des terrains contaminés, and with the groundwater quality criteria of the RQES. The RES criteria were exceeded by around 20% for chlorides, the origin of which was a major reagent in the treated soil, CaCl2. However, a number of factors must be taken into consideration when estimating the presence or absence of actual contamination, primarily the possible dilution factor in the environment, the hardness of the water and the molar ratio of the ions present, as well as the length of time the receptors of this contamination are exposed (Beaulieu et al., 2021; CCME, 2011a; Elphick et al., 2011). Moreover, the comparison to the EC criterion was only optional, and does not necessarily represent a real situation where private wells (for drinking water consumption) would be juxtaposed to a roadway. »

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
