Abstract
I följande arbete har en ekonometrisk undersökning av svensk verkstadsindustri genomförts. Åtta bolag, registrerade på Stockholmsbörsen, och tillhörande verkstadsindustrin har valts ut. Dessa är Volvo AB, Sandvik, ABB, Alfa Laval, Assa Abloy, SKF, Scania och Atlas Copco. Bolagens genomsnittliga avkastning utgör den beroende variabeln i undersökningen. De förklarande variablerna har valts med hänsyn tagen till fakta presenterad i bolagens årsrapporter samt ekonomisk relevans. Undersökningen baserar sig på data från juni 2002 till och med februari 2011.\nUppsatsens huvudsakliga frågeställning är vilka faktorer, såväl makroekonomiska som industrispecifika, som i störst utsträckning inverkar på svensk verkstadsindustris resultat. Med bakgrund i en faktormodell har även känsligheten för givna faktorer avgjorts. \nDen ekonometriska undersökningen baseras på en flervariabel linjär regression med OLS-estimat. Därtill har flertalet robusthetstest genomförts för att garantera uppfyllnaden av förutsättningarna för korrekta OLS-uppskattningar. \nResultatet varierar beroende på tidsintervall, dock är signifikansnivån generellt låg, så även faktorernas beta-värden. Som jämförande modell har Fama & French-trefaktors modell används. Dess applicering på svensk verkstadsindustri visar på högre signifikans dock även denna med små värden på faktorernas betan.
