Abstract
Barrick Gold Corporation es una empresa que tiene sede en Toronto, Canadá. Cuenta con 13 minas en tres continentes. Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A. es una empresa peruana que pertenece a Barrick Gold Corporation y tiene dos minas en Perú, una ubicada en Huaraz llamada "Pierina" y la otra ubicada en La Libertad llamada "Alto Chicama”. La Mina Pierina inició sus operaciones en el año de 1998 y debido a que requiere incrementar su capacidad de bombeo de 1200 m3/h a 1800 m3/h en las áreas de suministro y recolección de soluciones de las pilas en la planta de Merrill Crowe, fue necesario evaluar las capacidades máximas de sus instalaciones existentes y el estudio de alternativas de modificación de sus instalaciones para poder incrementar su capacidad de bombeo, así como los equipos que conforman la planta de Merrill Crowe. En el presente informe se considera las condiciones normales de operación de la Planta de Merrill Crowe y todos los cambios necesarios que se deben dar para asegurar el correcto funcionamiento de planta al momento de incrementarse el flujo. Para el desarrollo de la evaluación fueron realizados los respectivos trabajos de campo que luego fueron han sido plasmados en el presente informe.
