Abstract
Cette étude a pour but de classifier, décrire et cartographier la végétation des forêts du tiers inférieur du parc national de la Mauricie. Au total, 157 relevés de 0,04 ha ont été effectués le long de 53 transects distribués systématiquement sur un territoire de près de 175 km² . À chaque relevé, une description complète a été faite de la végétation et du sol. La classification qui a suivi, a permis d1identifier 39 groupements dont 8, soit 6 sous-associations et 2 variantes, ont été décrits pour la première fois. La description des groupements porte notamment sur la physionomie, la stratification verticale, la composition floristique, le statut évolutif et le dynamisme, ainsi que sur certains caractères édaphiques. Les relations qui existent entre les principaux groupements stables et certains facteurs du milieu sont décrites sommairement. Enfin, quelques séries physiographiques et évolutives illustrent ces relations et donnent un aperçu de la distribution de la végétation.
