Abstract
"Con el objetivo de determinar el grado de fragmentación del suelo para la plantación de la caña de azúcar en cantero se realizó un experimento sobre un suelo Gley Vértico típico, ubicado en áreas de la Estación Experimental "Jesús Menéndez". La diferencia en la fragmentación del suelo de los tratamientos se logró variando los pases de grada fina al final de la preparación. Una vez definido la distribución de los agregados de suelo se caracterizó el cantero antes y después del tape en cuanto a sus dimensiones, además se evaluó el espesor del tape y el porcentaje de brotación. Los resultados indicaron que la fragmentación del suelo con el 70% de agregados menores de 50 mm cumple con los requisitos establecidos para la siembra en cantero, logrando altura del banco antes y después de la plantación de 0,20 m, profundidad del surco de 0,11 m y espesor del tape de 0,05 m, así como, porcentaje de brotación de yemas de caña del 49%, acorde a lo reportado para las condiciones de Cuba."
