Abstract
"El Lupus Eritematoso Sistémico es una enfermedad autoinmune que se encuentra entre las principales 20 causas de muerte en mujeres entre 5 y 64 años, y que tiene varios tipos de manifestaciones en múltiples órganos. Dentro de los cuales, los pacientes pueden estar afectados por síntomas neurológicos y psiquiátricos con un amplio rango de prevalencia y gravedad. Y el compromiso difuso del Sistema Nervioso Central se puede encontrar hasta el 80% de los pacientes y esto conlleva a manifestaciones del deterioro cognitivo. Si bien el diagnóstico temprano de deterioro cognitivo puede permitir una intervención temprana, la batería que es el estándar de oro recomendada por el ACR, requiere mucho tiempo y está asociada con una carga de costos, lo que limita la practicidad de su administración como herramienta de detección en todos los pacientes con un posible deterioro cognitivo. Por lo tanto, la evaluación cognitiva de Montreal puede ser una herramienta útil para la detección de deterioro cognitivo en la atención clínica de rutina, ya que es una prueba breve, disponible en diferentes idiomas, con sensibilidad del 84% y especificidad del 100% y fácil de administrar".
