Abstract
This article argues that the impact of feminism on Atlantic Canadian history has been limited as a result of the often uneasy relationship between gender and region.Traditionally Atlantic Canadian history as been focused on political and economic themes while the extensive scholarship on women and gender has contributed to our understanding of social and cultural themes. RESUMECet article soutient que l'impact du feminisme sur l'histoire du Canada Atlantique a ete limite a la suite de la relation souvent difficile entre les sexes et la region.Traditonnellement l'histoire du Canada Atlantique s'est concentree sur des themes politiques et economiques tandis que I'erudition considerable sur les femmes et sur les sexes a contribue a notre comprehension des themes sociaux et culturels.
