El objetivo principal de la investigación es determinar si existe relación directa entre ideación suicida y alexitimia en alumnos de quinto año de secundaria de las Instituciones Educativas del sector Viñani, siendo de enfoque cuantitativo. Se empleó un tipo de investigación básica por su finalidad y correlacional por el nivel de conocimientos alcanzado. El diseño es no experimental de tipo descriptivo correlacional. La muestra es no probabilística de carácter intencional, con 206 participantes, entre 15 y 18 años de edad, ambos sexos, nivel de instrucción secundario. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron encuestas tipo test: Indicadores del Riesgo de Suicidio a través del Inventario BECK-HF y escala de Alexitimia de Toronto (TAS-20). Como resultado, se encontró que si existe relación directa entre ideación suicida y alexitimia en alumnos de quinto de secundaria de las Instituciones Educativas de Viñani, asimismo, se halló que el nivel de ideación suicida es de alto riesgo en alumnos de quinto de secundaria de las Instituciones Educativas de Viñani, con un nivel de confianza del 95%, con respecto a la variable alexitimia se encontró que existe un nivel alto en alumnos de quinto de secundaria de las Instituciones Educativas de Viñani, con un nivel de confianza del 95%. Finalmente, se obtuvo que el nivel de relación entre ideación suicida y alexitimia es alta y significativa en alumnos de quinto de secundaria de las Instituciones Educativas de Viñani, con un nivel de confianza del 95%.
