L'elaborato presenta un approfondimento sul francese del Québec attraverso l'analisi del film Mommy del regista canadese Xavier Dolan nella versione originale, nella versione sottotitolata in francese di Francia e nella versione doppiata in italiano. \nIl primo capitolo introduce la storia della lingua quebecchese, la sua evoluzione dal francese dei coloni e quello attuale e gli aspetti linguistici che caratterizzano questa varietà. \nIl secondo capitolo presenta il regista canadese Xavier Dolan, la sua biografia, il suo stile e introduce il film Mommy. \nIl terzo e ultimo capitolo analizza il concetto di turpiloquio contestualizzato nella cultura quebecchese, francese e italiana, e lo esamina attraverso l'analisi del tipo di turpiloquio, della frequenza e delle scelte traduttive realizzate nelle tre versioni del film Mommy.
