El proyecto KWIECO Shelter House se encuentra ubicado en la comunidad de Moshi, Tanzania. Las arquitectas lo diseñaron tras emprender una exploración de varios años acerca el rol de la arquitectura en la mitigación de crisis sociales y evidenciando la necesidad de refugios para mujeres víctimas de violencia doméstica. En 2007 crearon la fundación Ukumbi para apoyar comunidades con pocos arquitectos y en el 2012 comenzaron la primera fase del proyecto en Moshi. Esta se compone de 9 habitaciones en torno a un patio central, fragmentado en volúmenes de hormigón con espacios exteriores cubiertos entre ellos para favorecer la actividad exterior y la libre circulación. La segunda fase será más grande pero construida con los mismos materiales y técnicas y proveyendo una segunda capa protectora para los residentes. A través del buen diseño, el proyecto logra transmitir un sentido de paz a sus residentes dándoles un sentimiento de dignidad.
