Il libro dei frammenti di Ceccardo Roccatagliata Ceccardi esce nel 1895 nella «Biblioteca preziosa» della Carlo Aliprandi Editore di Milano. In questa collana, nel corso di un biennio, tra il 1895 e il 1896, Aliprandi pubblica una trentina di opere: volumi in sedicesimo, dal costo di 50 lire ciascuno, editi inizialmente a cadenza settimanale; pochi oltre le 100 pagine; tutti di piccola tiratura. Nella «Biblioteca preziosa» predominano i romanzi brevi, i racconti e le novelle, mentre più rari sono le sillogi poetiche, i testi drammaturgici e le trascrizioni di discorsi e conferenze.
