Abstract
Jewish archaeology in urban environments has become a necessary complement to the information from historical sources, which are often biased, as they tend to only describe a specific moment within a broad time frame. The excavation of the basement of a medieval house has revealed the different uses and repurposing of a 14th-century household in the Jewish quarter of Toledo and its evolution after 1492. In the basement of the house, a series of industrial-type structures were documented, the first of this nature associated with Jewish domestic environments. In addition, diverse ceramic and faunal remains belonging to the medieval foundation of the house have been contextualized, together with materials from later renovations.
