Abstract
Karacabey İlçesi, Marmara Bölgesinin Güney Marmara Bölümünde yer alan, Bursa iline bağlı bir ilçedir. Doğudan Mudanya ve Bursa, güneyden Mustafakemalpaşa ve Susurluk, batıdan Balıkesir’in ilçesi Bandırma ve kuzeyden Marmara Denizi ile çevrilidir. Karacabey ilçesi yaklaşık 1170 km² alan kaplamaktadır. \nİlçe arazisinin bugünkü görünümü genel anlamda Alpin tektonik hareketlerle belirlenmiştir. Daha sonra tektonik ve akarsu etkinliğiyle şekillenerek bugünkü görünümünü almıştır. Etüt sahamızın morfolojisinin bugünkü hatları tektonik ve litolojik yapı tarafından belirlenmiştir.\nİnceleme sahamızın iklimi, Karadeniz iklimi ile Akdeniz ikliminin etkilerini yansıtır. Etüt sahamızın sınırları içinde bulunan akarsular, Susurluk, Nilüfer Çayı ve Karadere’dir. Bu akarsuların hepsi düzensiz rejime sahiptir. En yüksek seviyelerine kış aylarında, en düşük seviyelerine de yaz mevsimi sonunda ulaşırlar.\nİlçe topraklarındaki doğal bitki örtüsü, Marmara Bölgesinin genel özelliğini vermekle birlikte denize yakın yöreleriyle kırsal alanları farklılıklar göstermektedir. İlçenin kuzeyindeki denize yakın kısımlarda nemi seven ormanlar yetişmiştir.\n2000 yılındaki nüfus tespitinde Karacabey İlçe merkezinin nüfusu 40.624 olmuştur. Karacabey'e bağlı olan 64 köyün toplam nüfusu 36.263'tür. İlçe merkezi ve köylerin toplam nüfusu ise 76.887'dir. Nüfusun %52'si ilçe merkezinde, %48'i ise köylerde yaşamaktadır. 1990–2000 yılları arasında yıllık nüfus artışı ‰7'dir. Nüfus daha çok Karacabey ovasında toplanmıştır. Genelde akarsu boylarında kurulan köyler, nüfusun yarıdan fazlasını barındırır.\nKaracabey’in ekonomisi tarım, hayvancılık ve sanayi olmak üzere üç temel faaliyete dayanır. Karacabey ilçe topraklarının 68366 hektarı tarım arazisi, 30425 hektarı orman ve çalılık, 9478 hektarı çayır ve mera, 2863 hektarı da tarım dışı olan ve kullanmaya elverişli olmayan araziler olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır.\nEtüt sahamız, konumu itibariyle antik çağlarda dahi ticaret yollarının kesişme yolunda olmuştur.\n ABSTRACT\n Karacabey is a district of Bursa. İt is in the south of Marmara Region. It is surrounded by Mudanya and Bursa, in the east, Mustafakemalpaşa and Susurluk, in the west, Bandırma, and Marmara Sea in the north-west. Karacabey is approximately located in 1170 km².\n The shape of the land in the town was virtually occurred as a result of the tectonic movement of the Alps. Having been shaped up, it has got the view by the tectonic movement and floating of the river. The present morphological shapes of the studying area have been occurred by tectonic and lithologic geology.\n The climate in Karacabey consists of the Blacksea climate and the Mediterranean climate. The town has some of which are Susurluk, Nilüfer Çayı and Karadere. All the rivers mentioned above have irregular level. They reach the top level in winter and the low level at the end of summer.\n The natural plants in the town have the same characteristic as the ones in Marmara Region, buy have some differences from the areas by the sea and the rural area in which the wetty woods are been grown.\n The population in the centre of Karacabey is 40.624 in 2000. The total population of the villages belonged to the town is 36.263. The total population of the town centre and the villages is 76.887. 52% of the population live in the city centre and the rest of it, 48% live in the villages. The increase in the population is 7‰ from 1990 to 2000.people mostly live in Karacabey Plain.\n The economy in Karacabey consists of agriculture, industry and stock farming. The land of the town occupied by agricultural area, which is 68366 hectare, forest and bushes, 30.425 hectare, grassland, 9.478 hectare and baron land 2.863 hectare\n Karacabey was on a busy trading road even in ancient times.
