Abstract
Le présent mémoire a pour sujet L'ÉCOLE DU MEUBLE DE MONTRÉAL. 1935-1958.: SON HISTOIRE ET SA PRODUCTION DE MOBILIER. II comprend cinq chapitres qui nous font connaître la carrière de Jean-Marie Gauvreau son directeur, les objectifs, les professeurs et le programme de l'École du meuble de même que la production et les styles du mobilier produits par cette école. Un spicilège, comprenant cent cinquante-neuf documents relatifs au mobilier de l'École du meuble, des dessins et des photographies, est joint au présent mémoire. II a pour but de faire connaître les différents styles de mobilier de l'École du meuble de Montréal: le mobilier de style, le mobilier d'esprit paysan, le mobilier moderne et le mobilier religieux.
