Baptiste Ladébauche est le premier personnage fictif québécois à avoir investi \nde sa présence une aussi grande diversité de lieux et de médias de diffusion. \nLa presse, le théâtre, le disque et la radio ont tous profité du rire suscité par les \nobservations et les aventures de Ladébauche. Aujourd’hui encore, nous pouvons \nouïr le vieil homme à propos des États-Unis, des automobiles, des guérisseux, et \nl’entendre incarner un vendeur de radios, un encanteur ou un juge de paix, grâce \nà plus de 100 monologues, dialogues et scènes comiques enregistrés sur disque. \nDe Montréal à New York en passant par Washington, 4 maisons de disques, \n15 auteurs et 7 interprètes ont constitué entre 1916 et 1932 ce qui s’avère être la \n« carrière» discographique de Ladébauche.
