Abstract
Mylène Costes et Sylvie Laval s’intéressent au vocable de la schizophrénie dans la presse quotidienne nationale française. Elles observent ainsi une certaine persistance d’usages métaphoriques marqués par l’association du champ lexical de la schizophrénie avec le traitement des questions d’actualité. Les auteures notent tout d’abord des éléments récurrents dans le traitement médiatique de la santé mentale et de la schizophrénie. Les registres convoqués sont ceux de la dangerosité du malade, de son infantilité, voire de son irresponsabilité. Elles analysent ensuite les actions mises en œuvre par les instances publiques, les aidants et le corps journalistique. En effet, la prise en charge de la santé mentale est bien une question d’ordre public (recommandations émises en 2016, communication à destination du grand public, etc.). Mais malgré les dispositifs de dé-¬‐stigmatisation, les auteures notent une persistance de la prédominance d’un usage métaphorique dans les messages publics.
