Abstract

Les femmes sont, de nos jours, de plus en plus actives sur le marché du travail. Néanmoins, elles vivent une situation précaire en emploi. Face à cette problématique, diverses solutions ont été envisagées dont des investissements publics au sein des organismes communautaires où une majorité de femmes, soit 80%, y occupent les emplois rémunérés. On peut donc se demander si ces organismes représentent un ghetto ou un lieu d'affirmation pour les travailleuses qui y oeuvrent. Afin de répondre à cette question, 44 organismes communautaires québécois ont été visités et 88 entrevues semi-dirigées ont été réalisées avec des travailleuses. Une analyse thématique a permis d'élaborer une typologie de travailleuses reflétant la diversité des femmes qui oeuvrent en milieux communautaires. Ainsi, une réponse nuancée s'avère de mise à cette question, puisque certains types de travailleuses perçoivent leur milieu comme un ghetto alors que d'autres le voient comme un lieu d'affirmation.
