Abstract
Cette recherche a pour objectif de déterminer si les projets de développement international de l’Agence canadienne de développement international (ACDI), cofinancés en collaboration avec des entreprises minières canadiennes, sont cohérents avec le mandat premier de l’Agence, soit de réduire la pauvreté dans le monde. L’étude conclut que les résultats escomptés par les initiatives de l’Agence répondent aux conditions nécessaires pour contribuer à son mandat. Cependant, la relation entre le Gouvernement du Canada et l’industrie extractive et les dommages causés par les entreprises minières dans les pays en voie de développement entravent l’atteinte des résultats escomptés par l’ACDI et ont le potentiel d’endommager la réputation du Canada à l’étranger.
