Abstract
À l'automne 2000, le gouvernement du Québec a lancé la Politique québécoise de gestion des matières résiduelles 1998-2008. En général, cette politique demande aux organisations québécoises de diminuer de 65% la quantité de matières résiduelles enfouies. Avec la mise en oeuvre du protocole de Kyoto en février 2005, une nouvelle donnée s'ajoute aux bénéfices de la réduction à la source et de l'augmentation de récupération : la réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre, qu'ils soient générés par les sites d'enfouissement ou par le transport. C'est dans ce contexte qu'a germé le projet Acfas 00 (zéro déchet et cargo-neutre). Le projet Acfas 00 s'est inséré dans le 73ieme Congrès annuel de l'Association francophone pour le savoir (ACFAS) qui se tenait à l'Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) du 9 au 13 mai 2005, sous le thème des "Innovations durables". Ce congrès a rassemblé plus de 3500 participants qui ont assisté en moyenne à 2,5 jours de colloques.
