Abstract
Deze rapportage is een vervolg op een in 1985 verschenen onderzoek- en ontwikkelingsprogramma milieubiotechnologie. Op basis van dat programma zijn de afgelopen jaren een groot aantal onderzoeksprojecten door de overheid financieel ondersteund. De snelle ontwikkelingen in de milieu-biotechnologie hebben echter een aanpassing hiervan noodzakelijk gemaakt. In dit rapport is op basis van een inventarisatie van het milieubiotechnologisch onderzoek in Nederland (zie rapportnr. 738706001) een onderzoeksprogramma voor de jaren 1989-1992 vastgesteld. Tevens is de algemene betekenis, die de biotechnologie voor het milieubeheer kan hebben geevalueerd.
