Abstract
L'Université d'Ottawa et l'Université de Liège ont conclu un partenariat de recherche et d'enseignement sur le thème du "Droit des corps". Ce projet vise à comparer les droits québécois/canadien et belge/européen sur diverses questions actuelles qui touchent à l'autonomie des personnes à disposer de leur corps et la possibilité pour les États d'imposer des contraintes qui pèsent sur ceux-ci. Cette démarche embrasse des questions aussi diverses que l'incarcération des personnes détenues, l'interruption volontaire de grossesse, la transformation du corps pour y intégrer des dispositifs technologiques, la liberté de déterminer la fin de sa vie, etc. Cette Chaire-Miroir a été inaugurée le 10 décembre 2024. Un séminaire scientifique, qui rassemblaient des intervenants belges et canadiens, a permis d'aborder les premières questions de fond. Il a été suivi d'une cérémonie solennelle, dans laquelle s'intègre la présente intervention des deux fondateurs de la Chaire (Mariève Lacroix pour l'UOttawa et Frédéric Bouhon pour l'ULiege).
