Abstract
Las cicatrices hipertróficas y queloides son el resultado de la alteración en las fases del proceso normal de cicatrización de la piel después de haber sufrido un traumatismo, siendo los menores los más afectados alterando su calidad de vida y causando traumas psicológicos, sin embargo al ser tratadas tempranamente y con los tratamientos adecuados estas pueden mejorar. Uno de los tratamientos eficaces en estas cicatrices es el vendaje neuromuscular, sin embargo no se conocía ningún estudio realizado que plasmara y diera a conocer los resultados que se obtienen después de utilizarlo en este tipo de cicatrices, por lo que se consideró importante realizar esta investigación, utilizando las evaluaciones según la escala de Vancouver realizadas por el personal de Salud del Hospital Nacional de Niños “Benjamín Bloom” a 27 pacientes pediátricos mayores de 6 meses de edad, que lo hubiesen utilizado entre Febrero-Abril de 2015, por un periodo de 15 y 30 días. \nMediante la investigación se comprobó que esta técnica es muy efectiva ya que los pacientes mejoraron significativamente en cuanto a pigmentación, vascularidad, flexibilidad, disminución de la altura de la cicatriz y disminución de dolor y prurito; por lo que con la investigación se comprueba que al utilizarlo, los pacientes pediátricos son beneficiados con la mejoría de la cicatriz de forma rápida y en menor tiempo.
