Abstract
This dissertation is going to analyse the law surrounding assisted dying and the prejudice nature surrounding assisted suicide. It will do this by considering the European Convention of Human rights and how the right to life does not amount to the right to die. The UK has attempted to reform the law several times however, due to the sensitive nature it has never found the right way to incorporate these changes into UK statue. This thesis will consider the law in both New Zealand and Canada, looking at ways in which they have amended their laws to allow for assisted dying and the impact of these changes. Lastly, it will consider how the UK could look to reform their laws to enable greater rights and lesser prejudice towards individuals who lack the physical capacity to end their own lives.
