Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Album 12: Colorized photographs from 1910 to 1960 This is a three volume set of photograph “albums’ tracing the family of two emigrant families from Eastern Europe. The Kutarnia family arrived in 1993 from Spisska Star Ves, Slovakia and Joseph Smith arrived in 1901 from Hosszu-Laz, Hungary. Joseph met Anna Kutarnia in Forest City, Pennsylvania and they married in that town in 1905. They stayed in the area, living in Forest City, Simpson, and Jessup until 1920. In that year they headed for the coal-mining region along Buffalo Creek in southwest West Virginia where they stayed for the next 8 years living in Becco and Lundale. They made the decision to move soon after suffering through a devastating mudslide which destroyed their home and buried all of their personal possessions. Having to provide for their large family, they didn’t make the move until it was financially viable, which was helped with the purchase of the future home in Trenton, New Jersey in 1925. By 1928 they had made the move to Trenton where they opened a fruit market. Once Prohibition ended, they changed the market into a pub. Neither was a novel career choice – they had a market and clothing store in Simpson, PA and a beer garden in Jessup, PA. Volume 1 consists of 13 albums containing hundreds of photographs of the family of Joseph J. Smith & Anna M. Kutarnia. Volume 2 consists of 7 albums of the family of Valentine "Billy" Smith & Alberta Matelena Volume 3 consists of 5 albums of the family of Albert Matelena & Dorothy Southard

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
