Abstract
Aucun vestige antérieur à la période moderne n'a été mis au jour dans la première tranche d’extension de la zone industrielle n°1 de L'Aigle, dite de la Frémondière (commune de Saint-Ouen-sur-Iton). Le diagnostic n'a fait ressortir de notable que la limite primitive d'une parcelle boisée et l'ancien chemin de L'Aigle à Crulai.Existant en 1819 et disparu avant 1866, ce chemin montre deux états successifs, l'un caractérisé par les ornières d'une surface en terre, l'autre par les silex d'une surface en pierre. Peut-être faut-il lui prêter une origine médiévale, si l'on suit la chronologie des occupations qui en constituent les extrémités.De façon plus anecdotique, on notera que les tranchées ont également livré de nombreux creusements irréguliers, diffus, que nous proposons de voir comme des chablis. Ils semblent antérieurs à la mise en place d'un horizon peu organique et très lessivé qui sous-tend la terre végétale, et qui pourrait subsister de la première mise en culture du secteur. La datation de cette phase n'a pas été reconnue dans ce diagnostic.
