Questo articolo identifica le principali caratteristiche del sistema strutturale impiegato da P.L. Nervi nella realizzazione della "Tour de la Bourse" di Montreal e ne illustra particolarità ed efficacia. In particolare viene messo in evidenza come il sistema strutturale in conglomerato cementizio armato (una quasi novità per alti edifici all'epoca della costruzione) si caratterizzi per la presenza di particolari elementi di irrigidimento (oggi chiamati "outirgger") che, in quella che è stata la prima vera applicazione di questo sistema ad un alto edificio, consentono di realizzare un sitema resistente alle azioni orizzontali caratterizzato da una estrema efficienza statica.
\nEntrambe le soluzioni adottate da Nervi, che all'epoca della costruzione avevano sollevato non pochi dubbi sulla loro efficacia, hanno poi mostrato la loro validità, tanto che al giorno d'oggi queste due particolari soluzioni (struttura in cca + "outriggers") sono divenute quasi una regola nei più recenti alti edifici.
