Abstract
Toy libraries are resource centers that provides assistance to young children and theirfamilies, gives consultancy service and information about plays, offers play materials andeducational activities and supplies appropriate materials and toys for child development aswell as contributing the development of children. Toy libraries are in commission all over theworld since 1935. The first toy library is opened in America, then in Sweden, England,Canada and Australia respectively. Today, there are toy libraries in over 40 countries worldwide.“International Toy Library Association” (ITLA) was founded in 1990 during “the 5thInternational Toy Library Conference”. ITLA has organized “International Toy LibraryConferences” once in three years since 1978.Key words: Toy library, International Toy Library Association.
