A una edad muy temprana, el poeta y traductor Seymour Mayne halló en la Jewish Public Library de su Montreal natal una labor de difusión literaria que desempeña hasta la actualidad. Su precocidad como lector le valió la entrada a la sección para adultos, donde conoció los cimientos de la estimada selección de literatura judío-canadiense del director de la biblioteca. En este espacio, Mayne logró resignificar los complejos entramados lingüísticos y culturales de su crianza y formación que también atraviesan su extensa obra. In Your Words, que reúne poemas de, entre otros, Rachel Korn, Melech Ravitch, Abraham Sutzkever, Moshe Dor y Schlomo Vinner, traducidos por Mayne del ídish y del hebreo al inglés, es, de algún modo, una extensión de esa colección y de esa biblioteca.
