Abstract
This tug was built in 1908 by Benjamin F. Crowles, Buffalo, New York. She was owned by Benjamin Cowles & Walter Mattick until 1919, when she was sold to Merchants Steamboat Company. Benjamin F. Cowles purchased her in 1921, and sold her to the U.S. Corps of Engineers. She was then bought by Great Lakes Paper Company in 1947, before being sold to J.P. Porter Company. In 1919, she became "Merchant," in 1924, she became "Marinette," in 1947, she became "Esther S.," and in 1966, she became "Mount McKay." She was dropped from Canadian list of Shipping in 1966.
