Objectif : Cette étude visait à définir les atteintes sensitivo-motrices aux membres supérieurs (MS) et à explorer leurs relations avec la performance globale des MS. Elle visait aussi à explorer les relations entre la performance globale des MS, l'indépendance fonctionnelle et les habitudes de vie, définies ici comme étant les activités courantes et les rôles sociaux d'une personne. Méthodologie. Cette étude pilote descriptive a suivi un dispositif de recherche transversal. Vingt-quatre participants ont été recrutés selon un processus d'échantillonnage aléatoire stratifié selon l'âge (<40 ans et [plus grand ou égal]40 ans) et le sexe. Les aptitudes sensitivo-motrices suivantes ont été évaluées avec des instruments de mesure standardisés et validés: la coordination (test doigt-nez modifié), la dextérité grossière (Box and Block Test), la dextérité fine (Purdue Pegboard test), la force au membre supérieur (dynamomètre Jamar, pincemètre B&L, Microfet-2), le tonus musculaire (Échelle de Asworth modifiée) et le sens kinesthésique (articulation interphalangienne du pouce). De plus, la performance globale des MS (TEMPA), l'indépendance fonctionnelle (MIF) et les habitudes de vie (MHAVIE) ont été mesurées.
