The U.S. Veterans Administration issued an abstract, reporting that forcing people to taper off of opioid pain medicine does nothing to reduce overdoses, but does result in a significant rise in suicide mortality.Meanwhile, doctors are still facing pressure to cut opioid prescriptions from their routines.
