El presente estudio de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel de conocimiento que tiene el cuidador principal sobre prevención de úlceras por presión en el adulto mayor, Hospital Clínica San Isidro Labrador, 2016. El diseño de esta investigación fue no experimental, de corte transversal, de tipo descriptivo. La Población estuvo conformada por 80 cuidadores principales de pacientes adultos mayores del servicio de medicina. Se trabajó con toda la población que reunió los criterios de selección; la técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento fue cuestionario, el cual estuvo constituido por 26 preguntas. Se encontró que la muestra se caracteriza por tener como cuidador principal predominante a los hijos con un 56.25%. Respecto al nivel de conocimiento del cuidador principal sobre prevención de úlceras por presión, el 86% presentan un nivel de conocimiento alto y 14% medio. Por lo que se concluye que la mayoría de los cuidadores principales tienen un nivel de conocimiento alto sobre prevención de úlceras por presión.
