Canada in the Anglo-American WorldThe other day a Canadian newspaper reported the tale that Canada makes its policy three days a week in Washington, three days a week in London and once a week at home in Ottawa.This story puts in an exaggerated form something that is essentially true.In the past our most intimate relations to the rest of the world have been for the most part with the U.S.A. and Great Britain.Those two countries have in many ways dominated our lives.We have seen last week how Canada has developed in the British Commonwealth from a colony of Great Britain into an independent country in our own right.But this fact of being a free nation does not mean that we are free from the influence of the U.S.A. and Great Britain.
