Abstract
Between the end of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th, women in entertainment world: dance, popular song, theater… developed an artistic and creative career rebelling, in some cases, against the male control. Given that their intimate lives were exposed and scrutinized in interviews and photographs, many of these women invented a biography that mixed true elements with some inventions. They developed an autofiction exercise and became protagonists of a manipulated life, creating a fictitious experience and developing the model of femme fatale. In a moralistic and patriarchal society, they broke work barriers by becoming autonomous professionals.
