Abstract
Ce projet a pour but de développer une méthode permettant la quantification des différences de la couleur dans les panneaux de bois massif destinés à la production de meubles ou de composants de meubles, pour l'industrie du meuble du Québec. Le but ultime est subséquemment de développer des procédures standardisées pour identifier des catégories de différences de couleur, à partir de critères objectifs de mesure. Cette étude vise quatre essences parmi les plus utilisées dans l'industrie au Québec, le bouleau jaune (Betula alleghaniensis Britton), le bouleau blanc (Betula papyrifera Marsh.), l'érable à sucre (Acer saccharum Marsh.) et l'érable rouge (Acer rubrum L). Cette étude se veut un premier pas vers l'établissement d'un standard de couleur dans l'industrie du meuble et dans l'automatisation de l'appariement des panneaux de bois massif.
