La conférence portera sur les résultats de deux études qui visent la prévention de l’état de stress post-traumatique (ÉSPT) à la suite à d’un événement critique chez les policiers, et ce, par l’étude des facteurs de risque et de protection qui y sont associés. Des policiers de différents corps policiers impliqués dans un événement traumatique ont participé à la recherche. Les informations recueillies permettent d’identifier les facteurs de risque et de protection les plus probants chez les policiers. Les résultats confirment aussi les connaissances actuelles au niveau des facteurs prévisionnels de l’ÉSPT chez les policiers. Des stratégies d’intervention seront proposées afin d’aider les organisations à mieux prévenir le développement de l’ÉSPT et à favoriser une récupération plus rapide.
