In dit onderzoek is het verband tussen doeloriëntatie en feedback-seeking en doeloriëntatie en waardering voor feedback exploratie verkend. Cianci, Schaubroeck en McGill (2010) concluderen dat het ontvangen van negatieve feedback voor een participant met een leerdoel en het ontvangen van positieve feedback voor een participant met een prestatiedoel het meest effect heeft op het leerresultaat.\nDe feedbackdialoog staat in dit onderzoek centraal. De hypothese is dat participanten met een leerdoeloriëntatie frequenter op zoek gaan naar negatieve feedback en gegeven negatieve feedback waarderen en participanten met een prestatiedoeloriëntatie frequenter op zoek gaan naar positieve feedback en gegeven positieve feedback waarderen. Dit is verkend gebaseerd op vragenlijsten voor doeloriëntatie (Van de Walle, 1996) en waardering voor feedback (Weaver, 2006) gecombineerd met gefilmde dialogen. De kwantitatieve data is geanalyseerd aan de hand van een afhankelijk T-test en factoranalyses, voor de kwalitatieve data is gebruik gemaakt van analyseprogramma MEPA en is meerdere malen een tweede beoordelaar ingeschakeld. \nNa analyses is een verdeling gemaakt in een groep leerdoeloriëntatie en een groep waarbij sprake was van een gecombineerde doeloriëntatie. Waarbij de hypothese voor de gecombineerde doeloriëntatie is dat participanten op zoek gaan naar een gelijkwaardige verdeling van positieve en negatieve feedback en deze combinatie waarderen. Voor de groep leerdoeloriëntatie kan, gebaseerd op resultaten en analyse, de hypothese voor zowel de feedback-seeking als de feedback-waardering worden bevestigd. Voor de groep combidoeloriëntatie kan de hypothese voor feedback-seeking worden bevestigd, de hypothese omtrent de feedback-waardering kan niet (geheel) worden bevestigd.
