Abstract
Se defiende en este artículo la fundación de una colonia fenicia en terrenos de la actual ciudad de Huelva en el segundo cuarto del siglo ix aC. También se sostiene que el sustrato mediterráneo oriental es identificable por sus casas, lugares de culto y cementerios, entre otras manifestaciones de su cultura material, y que la presencia de pobladores pertenecientes al sustrato local no está suficientemente probada.
