Es empleada del Departamento de Microbiología de la Escuela de Bioanálisis de la ULA desde 1991. Ha sido Profesional visitante en el Instituto de Salud de USA (Washington, 1993-1994) y ayudante de Investigación e la Universidad de McGill, Montreal, Canadá. Es miembro del equipo de investigación en psicofarmacología del Departamento de Fisiología de la Facultad de Medicina de la ULA.
