Le sujet d'étude de ce mémoire de recherche concerne l'identification de profils de jeunes âgés de 12 à 17 ans présentant des problèmes de comportement sérieux desservis par les Centres jeunesse du Québec, leurs parcours dans les services et leur évolution dans le temps. Le premier objectif cherche à décrire les caractéristiques personnelles et sociofamiliales de ces jeunes. Le second évalue la relation entre ces caractéristiques et les parcours des jeunes dans les services offerts par les Centres jeunesse et le dernier décrit l'évolution de ces jeunes et leur famille 12 mois après leur prise en charge par les Centres jeunesse. L'étude a permis d'identifier 4 sous-groupes de jeunes sur la base de leurs caractéristiques personnelles et sociofamiliales. Les résultats ont également démontré que dans 50% des cas, le placement est l'intervention la plus fréquemment utilisée. Enfin, il appert que les sous-groupes ont connu une évolution sur l'ensemble des caractéristiques qu'ils présentaient lors de leur entrée dans les services.
