Abstract
La falla cardíaca a sido definida como la falla mecánica del corazón para mantener la perfusión sistémica de acuerdo con los requerimientos del metabolismo tisular, cuando el corazón sufre un insulto, se activan mecanismos de remodelación, neurohumorales y endocrinos, que al final, nos llevaran a una insuficiencia cardíaca. En los últimos tiempos ha crecido el interés por descubrir. factores que pueden servir como predictores de mortalidad de forma confiable y segura, algunos estudios recientes a gran escala realizados en Estados Unidos de América. Francia, Canada y otros países más han demostrado que la hipotemia se ha colocado como un factor pronóstico de muerte inminente, en pacientes como falla cardíaca congestiva.
