Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The aim of this work project is to assess the potential economic benefits and potential healthcare savings of increasing physical activity, particularly in Portugal. We will identify the implications of insufficient physical exercise, then move to an economic and socioeconomic analysis. Our analysis seeks to quantify the impact of physical activity on effective labor supply by reducing premature mortality and increasing productivity and potential healthcare savings. The results suggest that an increase in the levels of physical activity of the Portuguese population leads to an increase in workplace productivity (up to 1.6 billion USD per year) and considerable healthcare savings (up to 296 million USD per year) that lead to significant economic output gains (up to 39.4 billion USD of cumulative GDP gains by 2050). Finally, we propose individual strategies and public policies to increase physical activity levels.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
