Abstract
Este estudio pretende valorar la formación social-humanística del estudiante de primer ingreso de la Facultad de Ciencias Químicas y Farmacia de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, encaminada dicha información hacia el desarrollo de la personalidad, el fortalecimiento del espíritu crítico, reflexivo y veraz de sus necesidades y aspiraciones. La perspectiva de sus necesidades y aspiraciones. La perspectiva teórica del estudio corresponde a la prevalencia de procesos intelectuales activos en la construcción del conocimiento y recurre a estrategias de aprendizaje e instruccionales con el objetivo de alcanzar el desarrollo de habilidades cognositivas que permitan al estudiante pensar, razonar y seguir aprendiendo. Esta formación permite al futuro profesional desarrollar las virtudes activas, hacer historia en lugar de ser un hombre sometido a la historia; apropiarse de la cultura en el interaprendizaje, construir el sentido y la significación de una relación en la que entran la creatividad, la novedad, incertidumbre, el entusiasmo y la entrega personal. Educar en la cooperación y participación colectiva, en el interaprendizaje.
