Abstract
Accurate measurements of the temperature distributions in hot section of components are indispensible for the prognostic and health management of gas turbines. In this research, multilayer thin film R-type Pt/Pt-13%Rh thermocouples have been successfully fabricated by combining pulsed laser deposition and laser micromachining techniques. The performance of the sensors was evaluated in an air furnace to monitor the temperatures up to 600°C and the results were compared to those of conventional R-type and K-type wire thermocouples. The temperature readings by the three types of thermocouples were almost identical, indicating that the new approach of using laser processes to fabricate multilayer thin film thermocouples is feasible.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
