Abstract
Talouden tapoja pitää muuttaa, jotta pystymme elämään maapallon kantokyvyn rajoissa. Kiertotalous on vaihtoehtoinen talousmalli nykyään hallitsevalle lineaariselle talousmallille. Kiertotalouden tavoitteena on kestävä kehitys samalla parantaen ympäristön vointia, taloudellista vaurautta ja sosiaalista oikeudenmukaisuutta. Tämän kandidaatintyön tavoitteena on tarkastella Suomen metsäteollisuuden innovaatiotoimintaa tällä hetkellä ja tulevaisuudessa kiertotalouden näkökulmasta. Työ toteutetaan kirjallisuuskatsauksena yritysesimerkein. \n \nBiotalous on talouden malli, jossa tuotteita, palveluita ja energiaa tuotetaan uusiutuvilla luonnonvaroilla, ja se liittyy vahvasti metsäteollisuuden kiertotalouteen. Suomen metsäteollisuus on edelläkävijä kierto- ja biotaloudessa. Tämä näkyy innovaatioissa niin kiertoihin perustuvissa toimitusketjuissa kuin kierrättämisessä. Suomen metsäteollisuuden tulevaisuus näyttää kiertobiotalouteen painottuvalta alalta, jossa on tietotaito ja kestävät innovaatiot toimivat ajureina ja kilpailuetuina.
