Abstract
Este trabajo es una contribución al estudio del poder político en el reino nazarí de Granada desde la perspectiva de la élite femenina. Pretende arrojar nueva luz sobre el controvertido título de Reina que aparece en las crónicas, así como delimitar el poder político real de la esposa de un monarca nazarí. Su excepcionalidad radica en que muestra estos elementos a partir de una figura no suficientemente conocida del siglo XV, Zahr al-Riyad, esposa de Muhammad IX al-Aysar. Para ello se ha comparado con el perfil político de la reina Arwà del Yemen (s. XII).
