Mentre agli inizi di ottobre a Stoccolma venivano assegnati i premi Nobel, all’Università di Harvard si svolgeva la cerimonia degli IgNobel, soprannominati “i Nobel dell’assurdo”. Ogni anno - dal 1991 a questa parte - la Improbable Research (www.improbable.com), con la omonima rivista Annals of Improbable Research, assegna un riconoscimento a quei ricercatori che con le loro pubblicazioni “prima fanno ridere e poi pensare” per “celebrare l’inusuale, onorare l’immaginazione e stimolare l’interesse della gente alla scienza, alla medicina e alla tecnologia”.
