Esta investigación tiene por objetivo interpretar La Norma Internacional de Contabilidad número 16, relativa a Propiedad Planta y Equipo. Los tipos de estudio a utilizar en el diseño de la investigación son: El estudio, descripción y análisis; el primero facilitará obtener información que permita realizar un análisis preliminar, así como una definición del problema en estudio. Se concluye que la mayoría de profesionales al frente de la contabilidad posee poca experiencia en lo referente a la Aplicación de las Normas Internacionales de Contabilidad, ya que desconocen la mayor parte de los procedimientos y la base técnica contable aplicable a dichos procedimientos. Los planes de estudio de la carrera de contaduría pública, apenas abarca conceptos básicos de dicha normativa, dejando la responsabilidad a opciones de más elevado nivel. Obviamente, los estudios superiores están designados a profesionales que pueden costear la inversión o a empresas que, dentro de su presupuesto alcancen a capacitar a su staff de profesionales
