ABSTRACT Key words: dog, atopic dermatitis, itch, treatment. Atopic dermatitis is a common skin conditions in dogs that affects about 15% of the canine population, of any breed and sex. It is defined as an itchy rash and inflammatory disease with genetic predisposition, characteristic clinical aspects and associated with the increased synthesis of IgE antibodies . The diagnosis of atopic dermatitis is based primarily on the patient’s signaling, on history, on clinical signs and exclusion of other disorders and not on the basis of laboratory tests. Most of atopic dogs begins to show symptoms between six months and three years of age. The primary skin lesions consist of erythematous macules and small papules. Most patients, however, it presents with skin lesions caused of autotrauma induced pruritus, what, for example, bruises, self-induced alopecia, while the lichenification and hiperpigmentation are the consequences of the chronic inflammatory process. The most affected areas are: face, concave part of the ear, ventral neck, armpits, groin, abdomen, perineum, interdigital spaces. The conjunctival tearing and external otitis aggravating the clinical picture. The purpose of this thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of various forms of treatment in dogs conducted to a dermatological examination at Veterinary Teaching Hospital "Mario Modenato" S Piero a Grado, in the period of time between Octobery 2012 and september 2014. The diagnosis of atopic dermatitis was made after evaluating the medical records, clinical signs and after the exclusion of the main differential diagnosis. Among the dogs selected was a predominance of female (51.3%) on the males (48.7%). The breeds most represented in our study group were the Labrador (13,82% ), German shepherd (10,53%), Boxer (5,92%), West Highland W.T (4,61%). The lesions most frequently performer were erythema, pruritus, conjunctivitis, folliculitis/pyoderma, otitis externa, lichenification and hiperpigmentation. In most cases (73,03%) the age of onset was upper 3 years. Of all the atopic cases 75% were treated with glucocorticoids, 15,13% with cyclosporine, 1,31% with oclacitinib and the remaining percentage with other kinds of drugs.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
